5 things you need to know about Goddesses
Leela Newsletter
This week, I'm feeling called to
dive into the realm of goddesses.
With Navratri just around the corner next month,
we're gearing up to dive into
all things goddess-related.
But before we begin,
I thought it would be insightful to explore
how not to approach goddess meditation,
how not to connect with their essence.
You know, I feel immensely fortunate
that I stumbled upon this wisdom
at an early age, when my mind was a canvas
of innocence and less corrupted
by the complexities of the world.
And as we grow up,
life tends to
add layers to our thoughts,
and often, our concept of love
becomes clouded by
conditions, transactions, and needs.
But in those younger years,
love is untainted, unconditional, and limitless.
I remember feeling like
I could achieve anything;
I was unstoppable.
The idea of love felt
boundless and infinite.
With this sense of wonder,
I found myself drawn
to the mystique of goddesses,
particularly Goddess Kali.
Yet, before we dive into
the art of goddess meditation,
let's explore five interesting
paradoxes about goddesses,
each unraveling an aspect
of their divine nature.
Paradox 1: When you strive too hard to seek her, she remains elusive.
I've observed seekers often making this mistake.
They try too hard.
They consume
an overload of information
from books to podcasts,
leaving little room for authentic experience.
It only makes a seeker more confused.
Just as human beings lose interest
when someone seems
too desperate for their attention,
goddesses prefer
not to be chased relentlessly.
Paradox 2: Attempting to domesticate her expression can awaken her volcanic fierceness.
The energy of a goddess,
her Devi consciousness,
is not meant to be tamed.
Trying to suppress her wildness
only fuels her intensity.
I've come across many women who,
during their taming period, appeared silent.
But beneath the surface,
their suppressed energy resembled
a dormant volcano,
ready to erupt with destruction.
Embracing her untamed essence
is the key to honoring and truly allowing her to blossom.
Paradox 3: Suppressing her flame can ignite a jungle fire within.
Interestingly, the more you suppress
her playfulness, sensuality, and fierceness,
the more her intense her energy becomes.
It's like telling someone they're "too much."
The suppressed energy manifests
as an intense, jungle fire.
I you feel the presence of that suppression,
it's your Dharma to
heal it,
understand it,
calm it down.
Because the jungle fire doesn't serve anyone
the intensity would lead to more destruction.
Paradox 4: She flourishes in thinking less and feeling more.
The conventional norms and hustle culture
often suppress the feminine energy within us.
When I look around
the hustling culture of New York City,
where the women are wired
to compete with men in Wall Street,
many of them lose touch
with their feminine expression,
many of them feel less of
that feminine energy in them.
Then society rewards them
with more money,
more fame and glamour.
But when they sit down,
they realize that little girl,
the inner child,
needs a lot of love and care
She blooms in
thinking less and feeling more.
Come back to the heart center.
Come back to that playfulness.
And we're not saying you should
stop working in places like Wall Street
and let go of your corporate career,
you should and you could
absolutely do it with flying colors.
But remember, you will be able to
make much more impact as a leader.
When you come back to your feminine self.
Don't make let anyone make you believe
that you have to lead with that rigid masculinity
to operate in your highest potential.
You could be your total feminine self
and emerge as a strong leader.
Paradox 5: Defining her can confine her.
The growth of feminine energy
is not meant to be analyzed.
It's designed to be
embraced,
celebrated,
and meditated upon.
The Eastern traditions and tantra emphasize
that wherever the feminine is not honored,
abundance doesn't flow.
This understanding changes
our relationship
with the feminine energy
around and within us.
Take a pause and ask yourself:
How do I show up to honor the inner feminine?
And how do I hold space for the feminine around me?
If these reflections resonate with you,
if they ignite a spark within,
I invite you to reply with the phrase "Tantra tribe."
Join our journey as founding members
of a Tantra membership space
we're moving and shifting into this year.
The exploration is exciting,
and while I'm not entirely sure
how we'll navigate this expansive space,
I'm eager and excited
to take that leap,
trusting that each step
will unveil the next.
Thank you for your trust,
for sharing this journey with me.
I'm thrilled to uncover
the next chapter of Leela

Let's embark on this enchanting path together.
